Again, same with sending money to the Houlton Jail. The Houlton Jail is a short-term facility. Inmates in the Houlton Jail do not have the privilege of getting or needing money while they are here.
Please do not mail any cash, money orders, or cashier’s check to the Houlton Jail. Please do not come down to the Houlton Jail with any cash, money orders, or cashier’s checks. These will be refused.
It is best to wait for the inmate to get transferred out to the Aroostook County Jail or another facility on that level where they will need funds. They will not need any funds while in the Houlton Jail.
Phone Calls
The one and only privilege inmates will have in the Houlton Jail will be access to a telephone in their jail cell.
Every cell in the Houlton Jail has a telephone in it. Inmates will be permitted to use that telephone at their direction.
Inmates will only be able to make collect calls. So, if you and your family does not have access to a landline, or the inmate does not know the landline number, you will never receive the calls. Collect calls do not work on a cell phone, unfortunately.
