Sending a Mail
All inmate mail must contain the sender’s full name and return address, the inmate’s full name (the name he/she is booked into jail under), the inmate’s SPN, the inmate’s housing facility, and cell block location.
If incoming mail does not have the above information on it, it will be returned to the sender.
Incoming letters with perfume, body fluids (to include lipstick), make-up, and other substances will be returned to the sender.

The Inmate Trust Fund, commonly referred to as the Inmate Bank, maintains an account for each inmate booked into the Penobscot County Jail.
In person deposits
To deposit money in an inmate’s account, you can use deposit machines are located in the lobby of the jail at 85 Hammond Street, Bangor, ME, 04401 . You must have the inmate’s first name, last name, and SPN.

Deposits can be made via phone by calling TouchPay at 1-866-232-1899. This is a private entity that accepts credit/debit card payments. You will need the following information:

There is a maximum deposit amount of $100. A service fee will apply.
Phone Calls
Inmates at the Penobscot County Jail are not allowed to receive phone calls.
Inmates can place collect calls to phone numbers where collect calls are not restricted.
Advance Pay Calls

Visiting Rules
Visitation at Penobscot County Jail is a privilege. Visits may be denied, revoked or limited when the visit would threaten safety, security or good order of the facility or when visitation rules are not followed. Visitation privileges may be suspended or terminated for inappropriate behavior or misuse of the visitation system.
