The housing areas at Snohomish County Corrections are direct supervision modules. The typical module consists of 32-40 cells surrounding a common day room. There is a fresh air unit adjacent to each module. There are no bars separating the inmates from the officers as the officer is stationed inside the module with the inmates.

The majority of the modules in the main facility house two inmates in each cell. Most units are designed to operate at a ratio of one officer for sixty-four inmates.

Sending a Mail

Inmates may receive cards and letters while serving time in the Snohomish County Jail.

All inmate mail must be sent through the U.S. Postal Service. All inmate mail should be addressed as follows:

Care packages are not accepted. Greeting cards may be sent but must not have items glued or otherwise attached to them (such as ribbons, plastic, glitter, music chips, etc.).

Photos may be sent but may not exceed 4-by-6-inches in size. No Polaroid or pornographic photos are allowed.

Books and magazines may be sent to inmates only if they are sent from a publisher, warehouse retailer or online bookseller.

Sending Money

To put money in an inmate's account you may do so by phone, internet, or directly at the inmate accounts window in the reception area at the jail.

For deposits made by phone, internet or mail you will need to know the inmate's CIN # or global subject number which can be found in the Jail Registry.

Deposits by Phone / Internet

You may put money on an inmate’s account via the phone or internet. This service is called Access Secure Deposits and is available 24 hours a day. To access this service, you may either call 866-345-1884 or visit the Access Corrections website.

Phone Calls

All phone calls placed by inmates are collect. Inmates have access to phones in their housing modules and may make calls anytime they are out of their cell.

Phone calls are limited to 15-minutes. Inmates may not receive incoming calls.

Pre-Pay Inmate Phone Accounts

Snohomish County inmate phone services are provided by Global Tel-Link (GTL).

GTL pre-pay accounts (PDF) start at $25.

To contact the GTL Billing and Customer Service Department, please call 866-230-7761 Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. CST, or Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST. You may also contact GTL through their website.

Visiting Rules

Snohomish County Jail inmates are allowed visits with family and friends after they have made their initial court appearance or if they are serving time. Inmates may have up to three 50-minute visits per week.

These visits must be scheduled at least one day in advance, but not more than 14 days in advance. Visitation occurs via video from the reception area of the jail at 3025 Oakes Ave, Everett.

How to Schedule Social Visits - Family and Friends

Family and friends of inmates at the Snohomish County Jail must now register online to schedule inmate visits. A valid email address is required to register. Once registration is complete, visitors may quickly and easily schedule visits, receive email confirmation of the visits, and notification ahead of time if the inmate is unable to attend a scheduled visit.

Professional Visitors

Legal representatives (attorneys, paralegals, interpreters), law enforcement officials, medical personnel, social workers, and others who need to schedule time to visit an inmate for professional purposes have two options:

Contact Visits: Contact visits will be granted only for approved professional visitors. To schedule a professional contact visit, please email the Professional Visit Request Form (PDF) to the inmate visitation division at least 4 hours in advance of the requested visit time.

If you have not been previously cleared as a professional visitor at this facility you will be contacted and asked to provide additional information before your contact visit is approved.

Video Visits: Professional visitors who wish to visit an inmate using the video system will use the same online system described above for social visits.

Check-In

All visitors are asked to sign in 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visit start time. No visits will be extended to accommodate late arrivals.

Visitors must have a valid picture ID before they will be allowed to visit. This includes a driver's license with picture identification, passport, military ID, or other verifiable picture ID.
