Sending a Mail

While inmates are not allowed to obtain money while incarcerated, there are a few ways to deposit money into an inmate’s account that they can use for the commissary store and making phone calls.

Visiting Rules

While visits between families, friends and inmates are encouraged, the primary concern is safety, security and good order for visitors and inmates. Visitors must follow certain regulations when visiting an inmate.

Who can visit

Anyone can visit and there is no application process. Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult. Legal representatives and clergy are also allowed to visit.

Visiting Schedule and Length

Visitors should verify a visiting schedule with the facility and their detainee, as the schedule is organized by gender and the even/odd numbers in the detainee’s A#.
Inmates in Houston Contract Detention Facility - ICE are allowed one visit a week that is one hour long, and visitors should arrive about 45 minutes before their visit to get through security. In the event of high volume, visits may only be 30 minutes. A maximum of two adults and two children are allowed during one visit.

Preparing for a visit
