The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) seeks to provide safety, promote positive change in offender behavior, reintegrate offenders into society, and assist victims of crime.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice maintains and hosts on their website an offender database where one can conduct an inmate search. Searches can be conducted by entering an inmate’s TDCJ or ID number or their last name and at least first initial of their first name. Only inmates who are currently incarcerated will be displayed in search results.
