The Rhode Island Department of Corrections has a mission to contribute to public safety by maintaining a balanced correctional system of institutional and community programs that provide a range of control and rehabilitative options which facilitate successful offender reentry.

The Rhode Island DOC website contains a search database on incarcerated inmates. One can search for an inmate by entering their ID number or first/last name (or partial parts). Other information that can be used to lookup an inmate includes gender, race, age range, or last known city of residence.
