Mail rules

  • All letters and correspondence for inmates must be sent through the United States Postal Service.

  • Standard US postal first class, one-ounce letters only: 6 ½" x 11 ½" x ¼".

  • Certified or Registered mail will not be delivered to or from the Post Office by jail staff.

  • No incoming publications, packages, books, or magazines will be accepted unless pre-approved in writing by the Shift 2 Corrections Sergeant.

  • Letters will only be accepted if written on standard white or yellow lined (school/legal) paper.

  • A limit of 10 pages per letter.

  • A limit of 4 photos per letter.

  • Only black or blue ink.

  • No colored paper or envelopes.

  • No greeting cards.

  • Sender's name and return address, and inmate name will be printed at the top of the first page of letters.

Mail will be returned to sender if it contains any of the following:

  • Polaroid type pictures.

  • Pictures or drawings of nude, obscene, or sexually explicit material. Stamps, stationery, or envelopes.

  • Magazines, newspapers, soft cover books, and similar items which are not sent directly from the publisher and pre-approved in writing by Corrections Sergeant.

  • Hardbound books.

  • Padded, musical, electronic, or laminated greeting cards.

  • Non-paper material, including corrugated cardboard.

  • Food or clothing items.

  • Foreign/unidentifiable substances.

  • Threats of physical harm against a person, blackmail, extortion, or any other criminal activity.

  • Gang-related material.

  • Mail from another Penal Institution.

Sending Money

Family and friends of inmates housed at the Okfuskee County Correction Facility are able to deposit funds into inmate commissary accounts utilizing the Kiosk.

The Kiosk is located in the Okfuskee County Jail lobby and will accept Cash, Credit Cards, and Debit cards. Deposits will immediately be available in the inmate's account, barring no delays during holidays or weekends.

  • The Kiosk does not give change.

  • Accepts United States currency in 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 US denominations.

  • Deposits may be made 24hrs a day, seven days a week

  • Family and friends must know inmate's jacket number and full name (Available from the inmate or On-line Jail Roster. NOT given out over the phone)

  • There is a convenience fee for each deposit, deducted from the amount deposited.

You may add up to $200 for a commissary deposit to an inmate in the Okfuskee County Jail by going online to www.smartdeposit.com. Register and you can make immediate deposits.

Phone Calls

Okfuskee County Jail offers phone access to each inmate in virtually every cell block. Inmates are encouraged to use the phones to contact friends, family, attorney, as needed.

All outgoing calls from the cell blocks are collect.

Your phone line must be able to accept collect calls via your phone company. Follow the instructions given by the operator. Collect calls will be billed to your account as stated.

Visiting Rules

  • Only visitors listed on the inmate's pre-approved list will be allowed to visit. Inmates must make prior application for each visitor, providing the prospective visitor's full name and date of birth.

  • Inmates sentenced to ten (10) days or less are not allowed visitors.

  • Visitors are allowed to be on one (1) inmate's visiting list only.

  • Visitors must be eighteen (18) years or older and provide current valid governmental photo identification to enter OR…
    Visitors under eighteen (18) years of age must provide birth certificates or proof of age and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is on the inmate's pre-approved list.

  • Visitors will not be admitted in the final fifteen (15) minutes of the visiting period.

  • Visitors and their property are subject to search prior to entry.

  • Visitors under the influence of intoxicants will be denied entry.

  • Visitors are not allowed to bring any property to visiting except proper identification.

  • Lockers are provided in the Okfuskee County Jail Lobby for your convenience. It takes a quarter to use the property locker but the locker returns the quarter to the user when the user finishes using the locker.
