Sending a Mail

You are free to send mail to inmates in Grant County Jail All mail except legal mail (such as a letter from an attorney or the courts) is inspected for prohibited materials and content before it is delivered to the inmate.

Deliveries are made Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Legal mail is opened in the presence of the person who received it.

If you want to send a photo to an inmate, you must use a third-party vendor, such as Walgreens Photo Center, CVS Photo Center, Snapfish, Walmart, Costco/Sam’s Club, Shutterfly, and Kodak.

Returned Mail

Mail that contains prohibited or fails to include the person in jail’s name, gallery, and housing unit will be returned to the sender. It typically takes several weeks for mail to be returned.

Money orders without the necessary information will be returned. Do not send cash, personal and payroll checks, or credit card numbers by mail.

Visiting Rules

If you want to visit an inmate, you must schedule the visit one day before the desired visit day. You can schedule both individual and family visits.
