Inmate Search

To lookup an inmate in Lewis County Detention Center, there is a database on the jail’s website where one can find information on inmates. Search results can be narrowed by entering the inmate’s first/last name or booking date. Information displayed includes the inmate’s name, booking date, and number, bond and mugshot.

Sending a Mail

Inmates are allowed to be mailed letters, written on plain sheets of paper and including 4x6 photographs. Anything else in the envelope will be considered contraband, including money, stamps, newspaper/magazine clippings, craft items (glue, glitter, etc), and anything besides paper letter and photos.

Inmates are not allowed to be mailed packages, although family and friends can order them items and goods through iCare, including various apparel, packaged foods, electronics, and hygienic products.

Sending Money

Inmates need money in their accounts for a variety of things. There is a one-time admission fee of $20 for clothing and linens, as well as a daily $3 fee for food. To pay for these things, any funds in an inmate’s account will be taken out. Inmates who work in jail will have the daily fee waived.

Inmates also need money to pay for making phone calls, sending letters, and to buy items at the commissary store.

Money can be put into an inmate’s account in two ways. One is that funds in the form of a money order can be mailed to an inmate at:
