The Boone County Jail, located in Burlington, Kentucky, has the capacity to house 424 maximum, medium and minimum-security inmates.
The jail services all law enforcement agencies in Boone County including the Florence Police Department, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, the Greater Cincinnati Airport Police Department, and the Kentucky State Police.
Last year over 8,000 prisoners were processed through the County jail system. The Boone County Jail system consists of two facilities. The minimum-security Work Camp located at 5359 Bullitsville Road 4/10 of a mile from the main jail which is located at 3020 Conrad Lane.
An important part of the jail’s mission statement is “The Boone County Jailer and Deputies strive to make the jail a community institution which is economically self-sufficient and provides needed services to the Boone County Community through inmate labor.” (Boone County Jail website)

All mail sent to an inmate at the Boone County Detention Center must include the sender's name and mailing address in the top left corner of the envelope or postcard.
Failure to include your return address will most likely result in your mail NOT being delivered and your letter destroyed.

Altered mail such as perfumed or lipstick covered.
Paper with any type of stains such as grease.

Sending Money
Since inmates are not allowed to have cash while in custody in the Boone County Detention Center, the jail maintains a “bank account” for the inmate to purchase products and services from their commissary store.
Commissary funds allow inmates to purchase items such as personal hygiene products, snacks, and stationery supplies from the jail store.
Inmates can use money from their account to purchase phone time credits or prepaid phone cards in order to make outside phone calls to friends and family members
Money can be placed on an inmate’s account by using the Kiosk money machine located in the jail lobby, online at inmatedeposits.com, or via credit card by dialing 866-345-1884.

Visiting Rules
All on-site video visitation visits must be scheduled in advance by visiting the public lobby during visitation days, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
- Visitation for prisoners at the main jail with the last name beginning with the letter A thru letter M is on Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Visitation for prisoners at the main jail with the last name beginning with the letter N thru letter Z is on Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Each inmate is allowed a 30-minute visit.
- Visitation for all prisoners at the main jail is on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Each inmate on Saturday is permitted a 15-minute visit.
- Children who are accompanied by an adult shall be permitted to visit.
- The inmate may have one adult visitor, (18) years of age or older, in the visitation room at a time and the total time can be shared by no more than three (3) individuals.
- Visitors will not be permitted into the jail lobby until 6:45 a.m. When scheduling a visit in advance all visitors shall be required to produce a valid state issued ID or passport.
- Any visitor who refuses to consent to a search or found to be in violation of the visitation rules shall be denied admission.

How Often Can I Visit?
Each prisoner in Boone County Jail is allowed one visit a week with up to 3 visitors per visit.
