The Morgantown City Jail was founded in 1859. It was first situated on West Side’s Scranton Road. It then transferred over to 117 North Main Street
PO Box 397, Morgantown, KY, 42261 back in 1904.

Since the 19th century, the Morgantown Division of Police was the law agency that his responsible for supporting the Morgantown City Jail. It was not until September of 2007, when both the Morgantown Division of Police and the Morgantown City Jail came together and ultimately created the Division of Corrections.

Inmate Search

Sending a Mail

The Morgantown City Jail will allow inmates to receive letters from their loved ones back home. These letters will be monitored and examined by a staff member employed by the Morgantown City Jail.

The Morgantown City Jail has the right to refuse, dispose of, or return any letter that does not follow their strict guidelines.
