With the Fairway Jail being strictly a short-term facility, inmates in the Fairway Jail will not receive this privilege.

Sending a letter or a care package to an inmate is strictly for facilities that keep their inmates longer than 72 hours (3 days).

If you send an inmate in the Fairway Jail a letter or a package, the letter or package will either be disposed of, refused, or sent directly back to you.

Please do not send anything to the Fairway Jail. By the time it gets there the inmate would have either been released or the inmate would have been transferred off to the Johnson County Jail.

Sending Money

Again, same with sending money to the Fairway Jail. The Fairway Jail is a short-term facility. Inmates in the Fairway Jail do not have the privilege of getting or needing money while they are here.

Please do not mail any cash, money orders, or cashier’s check to the Fairway Jail. Please do not come down to the Fairway Jail with any cash, money orders, or cashier’s checks. These will be refused.

It is best to wait for the inmate to get transferred out to the Johnson County Jail or another facility on that level where they will need funds. They will not need any funds while in the Fairway Jail.

Phone Calls

The one and only privilege inmates will have in the Fairway Jail will be access to a telephone in their jail cell.

Every cell in the Fairway Jail has a telephone in it. Inmates will be permitted to use that telephone at their direction.

Inmates will only be able to make collect calls. So, if you and your family does not have access to a landline, or the inmate does not know the landline number, you will never receive the calls. Collect calls do not work on a cell phone, unfortunately.
