The Perry County Jail, located in the city of Tell City, in Perry County, Indiana is a medium to maximum-security facility which has been opened since 1965 and was renovated to accommodate a higher population of inmates in 2014. The jail is right behind Perry County Courthouse.

By Phone

Deposits can be made via phone by calling TouchPay at 1-866-232-1899. This is a private entity that accepts credit/debit card payments. You will need the following information:

  • You will need the inmate’s name and SPN number.
  • There is a maximum deposit amount of $100. A service fee will apply.

Inmate Visitation

It is important to note that visitation is a privilege for inmates, and this privilege may be revoked due to the inmate or the visitor’s behavior.

Visitation hours are Monday-Saturday 8 AM-PM, and these times may vary day to day. All visitation is done by video using video stations in the lobby of the jail.

Inmates are allowed one twenty-minute visit per week. Additional visits cost $8.00 each and may be purchased. Here is more information regarding inmate visitation.

Prohibited Items

  • Visitors are not allowed to bring any items when visiting an inmate. All items including purses, wallets, bags, etc will be left in a locker in the jail’s lobby.

  • No food or drinks allowed

  • No packages, mail, or photographs may be left for an inmate

Dress Code

  • No revealing and/or see-through clothing

  • No sleeves shorter than halfway down the upper arm

  • No spandex or tights without shorts/skirt

  • No dress/skirts/shorts above mid-thigh

  • No clothing displaying obscene or offensive language, drawings or gang affiliation

Phone Calls

Inmates at the Perry County Jail are not allowed to receive phone calls.

Inmates can place collect calls to phone numbers where collect calls are not restricted.

Advance Pay Calls

If your number restricts collect calls, the person can open an Advance Pay account.

Here’s how it works:

  • The party receiving the calls should contact Securus at 1-800-844-6591 for instructions on how to open the account.

  • The inmate dials the phone number

  • The system determines if an Advance Pay account exists and if so, places the call

  • The receiving party must accept the call by following the automated instructions

  • The cost of the call is deducted from the Advance Pay account balance.
