The Colorado Department of Corrections website hosts an inmate search database where one can search for an inmate by department number or first/last name. Inmates’ holding facility is displayed in search results.
Sending a Mail
While mail is encouraged to keep inmates connected to loved ones, all incoming mail will be opened and inspected. The following items are prohibited to be mailed to inmates: money, cash, photocopied materials exceeding six pages, money orders, and contraband. In addition, pages should not be glued or taped together.
Rules on sending packages should be obtained from Rite of Passage - Q-House. General Colorado Department of Corrections guidelines allow packages to be sent if a return address is included. Weight limits, items that can be included, and frequency of packages should be checked with the institution.

Sending Money
Offenders at Rite of Passage - Q-House are not allowed to possess physical money, but funds can be deposited into the offender’s account either by depositing in person at the facility or sending a check or money order. The inmate’s name and DIN should be included. It is important to note that if an offender has outstanding fines or court fees, the funds may be applied to paying those.
Phone Calls
Inmates can make phone calls based on the institution’s specific rules. General Colorado Department of Corrections rules allow inmates to make collect calls between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. for a duration of thirty minutes. Calls may be monitored. Those wishing to receive calls should make an account with the phone system.
Visiting Rules
Visitation at Rite of Passage - Q-House is an encouraged privilege, as it can help offenders reintegrate into society better upon release from custody. In order to ensure that visiting is family-friendly and safe, there are rules for visitors and inmates to follow.
Identification
All adult visitors are required to present valid and current identification (driver’s license, non-driver photo ID, government issued photo identification, armed services I.D., employment identification with photo).
Searches
Visitors entering Rite of Passage - Q-House are subject to search, including a substance, strip, or personal item search. Additionally, visitors will pass through a metal detector and should refrain from wearing clothing containing medals (doing so will incur a more detail search).
Apparel
Visitors should seek to wear clothing that enhances the atmosphere. They should be dressed completely with appropriate undergarments. Visitors at Rite of Passage - Q-House cannot be barefoot and should refrain from wearing sheer or see-through garments, plunging necklines, bathing suits, shorts/skirts shorter than thigh length, and attire that depicts obscenities or profane language.
Prohibited items/Contraband
Visitors should not bring weapons, drugs, alcohol, cell phones or memory cards into the facility. No items should be given to an offender (money, medicine, etc) without permission from a staff member.
