California Inmate Search

California

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) seeks to create a safer California through correctional excellence. They enhance public safety through safe and secure incarceration of offenders, effective parole supervision, and rehabilitative strategies to successfully reintegrate offenders into their communities.

The CDCR website has an inmate locator function where adult inmates that are currently incarcerated can be searched by inmate number or by their first, middle, and/or last name (or partial parts of their name.) Information on inmates recently admitted to or transferred between institutions may not be available for several days, and information on some inmates may not be available due to security concerns.

There is a disclaimer that clarifies that the inmate locator is an informational service only and should not be relied upon as an official CDCR record. CDCR and the state of California assume no responsibility for any liabilities as a result of using these records.
