The Spanish Fort Jail was founded in 1859. It was first situated on West Side’s Scranton Road. It then transferred over to 30500 State Highway 181
Suite 618, Spanish Fort, AL, 36527 back in 1904.

Since the 19th century, the Spanish Fort Division of Police was the law agency that his responsible for supporting the Spanish Fort Jail. It was not until September of 2007, when both the Spanish Fort Division of Police and the Spanish Fort Jail came together and ultimately created the Division of Corrections.

Inmate Search

The Spanish Fort Jail is only a temporary, short-term facility for inmates. If you know or believe someone you know is currently being housed in the Spanish Fort Jail, you will need to contact the facility directly. It is best that you know the inmate's full name along with their date of birth.

Sending a Mail

The Spanish Fort Jail will allow inmates to receive letters from their loved ones back home. These letters will be monitored and examined by a staff member employed by the Spanish Fort Jail.

The Spanish Fort Jail has the right to refuse, dispose of, or return any letter that does not follow their strict guidelines.

Ensure you do not use any of the following:

  • Drawings

  • Usage of Colored Pencils

  • Staples

  • Do Not Send Stamps, Paper, or Envelopes

  • Glitter

  • Glue

  • Sticks

Keep all letters PG-friendly as they will have a better chance of being accepted and given to the inmate.

Sending Money

Inmates in the Spanish Fort Jail will not really need money since at most they will be in the facility a month or two. But if they request you to send them funds, you can go down to the Spanish Fort Jail with a money order.

Phone Calls
