Alabama Inmate Search

Alabama

The Alabama Department of Corrections seeks to confine, manage, and provide rehabilitative programs to convicted felons in a safe, secure and humane environment. Records on current inmates only are maintained by the Alabama DOC.

An inmate search can be conducted on the official database using an inmate’s AIS (Alabama Institutional Serial) number, a six-digit number unique to each inmate, or by their full name or partial spellings of names.

This search function is open-ended, so if a partial entry is searched (example: Char), all entries containing that search will appear. Up to 50 record results will be shown. To look up more entries, searchers should include more to a name or the AIS number.
